DayZ mods and config.json

Install Community Framework, DD_Core, DD_GameSpecter, and DD_GameSpecter_Server. Put GuildId and ServerSecret in profiles/DD_Settings/DD_GameSpecter/config.json.

Free

The Discord bot does not need a PBO. The Claim menu does. If you only wanted vote roles and a shop that sits in a channel, you can stop at the bot invite. This page is for the people who want items to appear in the player's inventory.

What to install

Guild Settings has a Required mods card. DD_Core and DD_ChromaStudio are Steam Workshop links (the platform admin pastes those URLs; they are not hardcoded). DD_GameSpecter and DD_GameSpecter_Server are ZIP/PBO downloads from the same card.

DD_Core will not load without Community Framework (the addon class is JM_CF_Scripts). Put CF first. GameSpecter client needs Core. GameSpecter server needs Core and the client pack. That dependency chain is the load order; there isn't a separate official -mod= string in the panel.

  1. Community Framework (JM_CF_Scripts)
  2. DD_Core (Workshop link from the panel)
  3. DD_GameSpecter (client download)
  4. DD_GameSpecter_Server (server download)
  5. DD_ChromaStudio only if you use that Workshop pack for screenshots; the Claim menu does not require it to start.

The one config file

On the DayZ page in the panel, copy Discord server ID and Server secret. Generate the secret if it still says “Not created yet.” Paste them into the server profile:

profiles/DD_Settings/DD_GameSpecter/config.json

{
  "GuildId": "123456789012345678",
  "ServerSecret": "the hex string from the DayZ page",
  "VerboseLog": false
}

DayZ sees that folder as $profile:DD_Settings. On a dedicated box it's usually next to your other profile JSON. On a rented host (Nitrado, GTX, and the rest) find the same profiles / config directory you already use for Expansion, VPP, or whatever else you run. The panel has no Nitrado-specific path. If the host UI has an “upload configs” slot, this file goes there, not in mpmissions.

  • GuildId is the Discord snowflake, not a Worker UUID.
  • ServerSecret is 48 hex characters. Regenerating it in the panel kills the old one until you update the file and restart.
  • BackendUrl is QA only. Production must omit it; the mod then talks to https://gamespecter.app. Pointing a live server at qa.gamespecter.app is how you get a teal banner and the wrong database.

Default keybind is B (input DD_GS_OPEN_STASH). There's also a button on the vanilla inventory screen. Tabs in the HUD: Inventory (pending deliveries), Shop, Wheel, and Link for Steam.

Keys / .bikey

GameSpecter has no “upload bikey” field. Signed Workshop mods (Community Framework, DD_Core, Chroma Studio) ship their keys the way every other Workshop mod does: copy them into the server Keys folder. If the client/server ZIP from the panel includes a Keys folder, that goes on the box too. Unsigned-mod kicks are a host Keys problem, not a panel token mismatch.

How you know it connected

DayZ page → Last connection. If that stamp is stale, the secret is wrong, GuildId doesn't match the claimed guild, or the PBO isn't loaded. Empty GuildId or ServerSecret means the mod simply doesn't send HTTP; it won't throw a helpful dialog in-game.
